Red Wing stoneware beater jar

Original - Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Beater Jar 1930ies.

Machine-turning Clay was formed into shape by a metal template cut to the contour of the vessel wall. Traditionally, if the template formed the outside contour, the machine was called a jigger; if it formed the inside contour, it was called a jolly.

Red Wing Stoneware Company made many items for everyday kitchen use. Many groceries ordered Red Wing Stoneware with their store name on the pieces. Phrases like "Mix with the Best" were often printed on these wares.
